Day 3- Alesund, Norway

Finally reached Norway and was greeted by calm sea and great weather.
Ladies in traditional Norwegian costumes distributing maps on the pier.

Hubby posing with our ship, the Eurodam

The scenery was beautiful! Weather was about 12-15 degree celsius with low lying clouds everywhere. Almost every picture we took looks like something out of a postcard. Love the Nouveau style architecture.

We visited the Jugenstil museum also known as the Nouveau Art Center. Nouveau is an art style that flourished from the mid 1890s-1910 and it spread to Norway in the 1900. A rather quaint and unique looking building which was once a chemist shop but was now declared as a national center for Nouveau Art. Entrance fees was 70 NOK (Norwegian Kroner) per pax but seriously, I think anyone can just walk in and out freely coz nobody said anything and there were no one guarding the place. Things were freaking expensive in Norway. A burger and a bottle of coke cost about 100 NOK which is about $20 USD!? Anyway, we just go back to the ship to eat lunch instead.
The Time Machine was simply just a show that explained the history of Alesund. Nothing fantastic or special about it.
Somebody doing Kung fu stunt while taking pics...haha
Is it a cow, a sheep or a pig??
It looked so real sleeping inside the glass casing. Kinda creepy to me

Another attraction in Alesund besides the Art Nouveau Center was Mt Aksla. Its the highest point in the town and gives a panaromic view of Alesund. To get to the top, you can either climb about 418 steps from the town park or take the train which cost about 150 NOK and took about 45 mins. Of course we climb the stairs.....its good exercise the burn off the extra calories we piled on during the cruise.
Long queue of people waiting for the train, mostly whom were elderly folks.

The famous scenic view of Alesund.

A Viking statue in the park.

Our ship in the distance

Halfway up to the top.....

The view at the top was awesome!
